Today, I am sharing an Instagram post from Michael Addict. I’ve helped Michael make mindset shifts and provided advice to him with some of the projects he is working on, but truth be told, this brilliant guy doesn’t need my help. He’s one of the brightest young men I have met in a long time. 
 
Today’s note: Why You Aren’t Making Money
 
Michael provided the following caption in a recent Instagram post:
 
“I used to be a daily victim of the shining object syndrome. ⁣⁣
 
I’d decide to do something, and the success of another person would distract me⁣⁣.
 
I would hear people say⁣ I just made $60K on YouTube.⁣
 
I closed my first client on LinkedIn. ⁣⁣
 
My Shopify store just blew up.⁣
 
And I’d begin to feel envious. ⁣⁣
 
I would say to myself, maybe, I should try that out.
 
And a few days into it⁣⁣, I would hear another person’s testimony.
 
Making a shift almost instantly. ⁣⁣
 
But what we fail to realize is that ⁣every plant has the ability to grow⁣⁣.
 
You just have to water it daily.⁣⁣
 
If you want to succeed at something, you will have to put in consistent work, ⁣⁣focus, and time.⁣⁣
 
Comparing your journey to another is a sure good way to fail.⁣
 
Choose one lane, stick to it, and you will eventually strike gold.⁣”
 
 
Michael added the following in his Instagram carousel:
 
“Why you aren’t making money.
 
I’m going to create a video course.
 
Erica just made $3000 selling an ebook!
 
I’m switching to ebooks.
 
Tam just closed a 6 figure deal!
 
I’m going to find clients.
 
Mike’s YouTube made $20K this month?
 
I’m starting my channel.
 
But success isn’t reliant on what you do.
 
It is dependent on how consistently you do it.
 
Raylen’s video course made $55K this month. Damn.
 
Focusing on the breakthroughs of others might make you miss yours.
 
Choose one thing and stick to it.”
