The Longer You Wait, The More You Over Think It. | Note 072

The longer you wait, the harder it will be to unleash your product or services into the universe.

I had all these big ideas.
And then I had more big ideas.
And then I had even more big ideas.

The longer I thought about one idea, the more ideas I had until I forgot about the original idea or the original idea was so thought out it became a different vision altogether.

Confused? Yeah, that’s what happens when you wait to take action on your big idea. You overthink it.

Hi, I am Tam. I’m a recovering “over-thinker.”

I had a few great ideas. One idea I had was to start this podcast. Another idea I had was to build a community for artists, stylists, and creators. I also had an idea to launch a mastermind and a subscription box and write a book with all my notes and so on and so on. You get the picture, right?

It’s wonderful to be in the flow and come up with many great ideas. What’s not great is to procrastinate on taking quick action on those ideas. All the ideas I mentioned started as one simple idea — build a community for creatives. Four years later, I’m starting to roll-out my original idea.

Why?

Because the longer I waited, the more my idea developed. And the more it evolved, the more complicated it became to execute. The more complicated it became to execute, the more I spun my wheels, the more I procrastinated, and you know the rest.

I learned many valuable lessons about waiting to take action on my big idea. However, there is only one I want you to remember. Stop telling yourself you need more time.

Today’s Note: The Longer You Wait, The More You Over Think It.

You have a great idea for a product or service you want to offer. Do you know the longer your idea stays in your head or the more notes you take in your notebook, the more complicated it will become?

The longer you wait to take action on your idea or product, the more your idea will continue to evolve.

Yes, you need to flesh out your ideas and think about things such as your target audience, but the longer you wait, the more things you’ll think of.

The longer you wait, the harder it will be to unleash your product or services into the universe.

The longer you wait, your product or services may not be needed.
The longer you wait, the day may never come.
The longer you wait, the more you overthink it.
