This time of year can be difficult for many people for various reasons, and it was in my heart to share something positive.

Positioning.

That word came to mind when I thought about what I wanted to share in this week’s email.

2024 is coming in hot, and I don’t know about you, but I want to be well-positioned for success.

No more “new year, new me” fantasies – 2024 demands real talk and the grit to overcome those sneaky progress-stopping pitfalls. As you know, a new year is like a blank canvas, a fresh chance to rewrite your narrative.

But before you go all Rocky Balboa, hold on a sec, champ. Let’s talk about something unavoidable: FAILURE. Yep, even the toughest stumble before finding the motivation to keep fighting.

The real test lies in how you get back up. Will you linger on the mat, defeated, or rise like an undisputed legend in the making, penning your own comeback story.

Perhaps it’s time to ditch the fluffy resolutions and embrace the messy journey. Let’s say goodbye to “research forever, never start” and hello to tackling those analysis paralysis traps. No more “shiny new projects, wing it!” – 2024 calls for informed action, not blind leaps.

Here’s the thing: In 2024, you have an opportunity to shape your story, confront challenges, and pursue your aspirations. So why not rebrand your stumble into a stepping stone by avoiding these five sneaky traps?

1. Stuck in Research:

You’ll dive into a sea of articles, webinars, and podcasts, mastering every detail. You’ll become an encyclopedia of “shoulds” and “hows.” But action? Crickets. Remember, knowledge is power. However, it’s taking the plunge that fuels progress.

2. Knowledge-Free Execution:

Rushing in without direction or purpose can lead to failure. Balance speed with essential information. Educate yourself, but don’t let it paralyze your first step.

3. The Research-Execute-Fail-Abandon Loop:

Failure happens. But it’s not the end. Embrace the learning opportunity, adjust, and try again. Remember, all your favorite gurus have stumbled as well.

4. On Team Doing Too Much:

Delegate! Trying to do everything yourself is a recipe for burnout. Seek support, but beware of blindly following others’ paths. Your journey is unique.

5. Wishing, Hoping, and Dreaming:

Wishing for success without action is a surefire way to disappointment. Set clear goals, make a plan, and take consistent steps. Success rarely comes to those who simply wait.

Alright! Self-sabotage traps exposed, vulnerability embraced. I know I am guilty of at least one (maybe two) on the list. How about you?

2024, like every year, will be a rollercoaster, but you’re in a position to rock it, not just roll. Hopefully, as you reflect on 2023, you’ll learn from every misstep, adjust your course, and own the stage of your life.

Your future isn’t in writing. But this is the year you can rewrite your destiny, one powerfully positioned play, one intentional shift at a time.

Remember, ensure success in 2024 by being aware of and avoiding the ‘5 Pitfalls to Avoid in 2024.
