Stop Worrying About What You Don’t Want | Note 062
Do you know what you want?
No, seriously. Do you know what you want? If you do, why are you worrying about the things you don’t want?
For a good portion of my life, I thought I knew what I wanted. But when I stopped to write down my goals, I realized I spent so much time focusing on the things I didn’t want; I lost sight of what I really wanted.
I knew I would not spend my entire life without seeing the world.
I knew what I would not tolerate in a relationship.
I knew what didn’t feel good without having to learn any tough lessons.
I knew about things I didn’t love.
But I couldn’t tell you how my dream home looked.
I couldn’t tell you what my ideal relationship looked like.
I couldn’t tell you something as simple as my ideal career.
Don’t get me wrong, I always knew certain things, but many of those things came by knowing the things I wouldn’t accept, stuff I absolutely would not tolerate, or worrying about what I did not want.
Today’s Note: Stop Worrying About What You Don’t Want
Life lessons are tough. There is no other way to say it. But what you can do to lessen the blow is to learn as many life lessons as fast as possible.
One of the best lessons you can learn is to figure out what you want early in life.
When you are able to focus on what you want and where you want to go, your view is much clearer.
No one said achieving your goals is easy. But when you have a clear picture of what you want and take steps to achieve your goals, you have a better road map.
The first question you should ask yourself is what makes you happy? Then ask yourself, what do you really want out of life?
Whatever those things are, focus on your strengths and what it will take to make it happen.
If you want to be debt-free, focus on how to make more money.
If you want to find your dream girl or guy, focus on the qualities he or she should have to make you happy.
If you want to travel the world, focus on mapping out what cities you want to explore.
Focus on all the things you want. Stop worrying about what you don’t work.
