Want 3 surprising steps to get unstuck?

Seek Criticism | Note 053

Don’t settle for praise.

If, instead of seeking approval, you ask, What’s wrong with it? How can I make it better?”, you are more likely to get a truthful, critical answer.

The quote I just read is from the book “It’s Not How Good You Are, It’s How Good You Want To Be. The world’s best-selling book by Paul Arden.

Are you seeking praise, or are you looking from criticism?

Following your gut and instincts should take precedence over any opinion or feedback you receive. However, when you ask someone for advice, don’t simply seek approval.

Ask questions that evoke honest feedback.
Ask, “can you find fault with this?”
Look for help that can improve your idea.
Don’t settle for praise.
Seek criticism.
