I Yam What I Yam An Dat’s All I Yam | Note 058

Embrace who you are just like Popeye and Pippi Longstocking embraced who they were.

“Whether you’re male, female, black, Hispanic, Native American, Asian, ethnic, or gay (and wherever you work), you are who you are, and that’s what you are — and be damn proud of it.
Don’t change your name, don’t change your accent, don’t change your heritage, don’t denigrate a humble upbringing. Be true to yourself and you’ll ring true to the world.”

The Quote you just read is from the book “Damn Good Advice (for people with talent)” by George Lois.

Hi! I am Tam. Your virtual Mentor, Motivator, and Strategist.

If you’re interested in learning more about the book, you can check it out here. If you are wondering about the quote, Popeye as in Popeye the Sailor Man — Woop Woop — made those words famous.

Two of my favorite childhood favorites were Popeye and Pippi Longstocking. Why? Because Popeye and Pippi embraced who they are. Both were strong and confident.

Today’s Note: I Yam What I Yam An Dat’s All I Yam.

You are who you are.
Why not embrace who you are?
Why not be proud of who you are?
That doesn’t mean you can’t improve who you are.

It doesn’t mean you have to change what you are.
It doesn’t mean you are stuck where you are.
It simply means you are who you are, and it’s time to embrace who you are. It’s okay.

As Popeye said, I Yam What I Yam an Dat’s All I Yam
