Would you choose easy or difficult?
Speaking to an audience after receiving an award, Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington once said, “Without commitment, you’ll never start or more importantly, without consistency, you’ll never finish. It’s not easy.”
He went on to say, “If it was easy, there would be no Denzel Washington. So, keep working.
Keep striving. Never give up. Fall down seven times, get up eight.
Ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship. So, people keep growing. Keep learning.”
When you think about it, we spend a lot of time worried about things that are difficult and hardships, but perhaps we should worry about avoiding simple work and tasks that come to us with ease.
