Find Clarity | Note 001

Are you clear on your goals, your wants, and your desires?

Get clear on your goals, your wants, and your desires. When you have a clear picture of what you want, it is easier to say no to anything that doesn’t support your goals, your wants, and your desires. There is no quick fix to find clarity, but a great start is exploring your curiosity. Find and seek the things that make you happy. Ask yourself the tough questions like, what’s your ideal day or what is most important to you personally and professionally. How do you want your days to look? The clearer you get, the quicker you’ll reach those ah-ha moments. Remember today’s note is “Find Clarity.”

It’s Your Problem To Solve | Note 066

Why do we ask people to solve problems that only we can solve?

Here’s the thing. You can ask 10 people for their opinion about your problem, but no matter what answers they provide, it’s still your problem to solve.

Wouldn’t it be much easier not to over-complicate things by gathering a bunch of opinions?

No matter how many people you consult, you still have to decide to decide.
You still have to answer the question. You still have to solve the problem. Only you can fill in the blank.

Here’s another thing. You probably already know what you need to do. So why not save the time and energy it takes to ask everyone else to solve your problem and do it yourself?

After all, it’s your problem to solve.

Do The Damn Thing Now | Note 086

Hoping is waiting. Doing is to take action now.

Hey! Let’s start this week right. Thank you for joining me for another week of bite-sized motivation served up two minutes at a time. A few days ago, I talked about doing the damn thing and not waiting for the perfect moment to start. Today, I wanted to share more about it.

I hope you have a chance to do the things you want to do.

I hope you have a chance to see the places you want to see.

I hope you have a chance to say the things you want to say.

I know you know there is a difference between hoping and doing, right? Hoping is waiting. Doing is to take action now.

If you have learned nothing else during this pandemic, I know you learned never to wait on the perfect opportunity. Why?

There may not be a next time.

Start that business now.
Visit the cities on your bucket list, now.
Love now
Forgive now.
Be happy now.
Live now.

Do the damn thing now!

You Can Let Go | Note 102

Coming up with reasons to let go isn’t hard.

Over the weekend, I had a discovery call with a strategist to discuss the next steps for the Sincerely HER Instagram account. Two hours into the call, the strategist said, I’m going to be honest with you and tell you something you don’t want to hear.

I immediately perked up and sat impatiently, waiting to hear what he had to say on our never-ending Zoom call. He said forget about that account and focus on your personal account.

In one sentence, he slashed my hopes, my dreams, but not my confidence. He also said he thought I was boring when we first started talking but found interest as I opened up and shared more stories about my life and experience. He concluded that I could best serve everyone, including myself, by sharing my knowledge and building a strong personal brand.

That night, I tossed and turned as I thought about what he said. I woke up the next morning, and my first thought was he has a point. I want people to like, know, and trust me, so I am going to be more personal. And it’s okay to let go of my plans because I’m putting together a better plan.

Feeling like you should let go isn’t hard.
Telling yourself to let go isn’t hard.
Coming up with reasons to let go isn’t hard.
Finding someone to agree with you and reaffirm your decision to let go isn’t hard.

The hard part is breaking the attachment to whatever you are trying to let go because it’s become part of who you are. It can even become your identity.

The longer you wait, the harder it becomes to let go.

Decide today to let go.
Give yourself permission to let go.
Take action and let go.
It’s okay.

You can let go.

Do What’s Right For You | Note 122

Why waste time not being true to yourself?

Why did I waste so much time not being true to myself? You should never live in, should have, could of, would of. But that thought just popped into my mind.

I hope sharing this story helps someone who’s listening.
And I’m sorry to be emotional, but I was really thinking like I spent…not that I never cared about what people thought, but I spent so much time trying to do the right thing. But it wasn’t the right thing for me.

It was the right thing that…sorry.
It was the right thing I thought you were supposed to do.

Even though I knew in my heart that it wasn’t right for me. And I say this because someone’s listening and is doing something that they know is not right for them. Do what’s right for you, no matter if someone thinks it’s wrong.

Do what’s right for you.

Stop today and do what’s right for you.
It’s the only way to live.
It’s the only way to be happy.
It’s the only way to be.
Do what’s right for you.
